Those Darn Mosquitoes!

Some 2000 species of mosquitoes are found around the world from the artic to the tropics. Only the female buzzes or bites. She has a tubular mouth that pierces skin to get a drink of blood needed to produce eggs. The mosquito is considered at best a pest and at worst a public health nightmare. However, many birds, fish and other insects find them a tasty meal.
